Products Urea moulding compounds

Urea moulding compounds

Urea molding compounds ( thermosetting plastics) are amino molding compounds composed of urea formaldehyde and alpha-cellulose as filling material with the addition of lubricant, hardening agent & pigments. Thermosets offer many advantages over basic thermoplastics and are suitable for compression, transfer, or injection molding. They are produced in a precise and vibrant range of colors. They are available in powder (which gives a much better surface) or granular form. Thermosets are strong, glossy, durable, and highly resistant to scratches and staining. They are not affected by fats, oils, esters, ethers, petrol, alcohol, or acetone nor by detergents or weak acids & weak alkalis

Packing:   • 25Kgs. net laminated polyethylene bags.

Handling:   It is advisable to wear a dust mask while emptying the bags. Hands should be thoroughly washed at the end of the working day and before meals.

Storage:   • Storage at 250c gives stability for 6 months

                 • Avoid moisture, dirt, packaging damage &high temperature which affect the materials flow and mouldability

Major application areas

Their high mechanical strength, heat and fire resistance and good electrical arc and tracking resistance make them an ideal plastic for numerous industrial and household applications like :

  • Spares of electrical appliances: switches, fittings, sockets, cases.
  • Machinery spares: knob, handle, spinning machine components, instrument shell, clock shells.
  • Ornaments
  • Toilet seats & other toilet articles.
  • Ashtrays , buttons
